The Olperer is 3476 m high and the main summit of the Tuxer comb. With its pyramidal summit structure a striking appearance and a popular mountain views.
Hiking and mountain climbing in the Zillertal
Over 1,000 km of hiking paths are awaiting you in the Zillertal, one of the most popular hiking regions. The region offers everything from theme hikes and nature trails to challenging hill country hikes and summit tours (numerous peaks with an elevation of over 3,000 m). In summer, you can use the 11 lifts, which will take you comfortably to the starting point of your tour.
In this region, you can also go on numerous guided tours. Peter Haberler, Mayrhofen's mountain professor, is an avid mountaineer. With him as a mountain guide, you can enjoy the summer program (alpine hike with Peter Habeler) in the Zillertal High Alps Nature Park. One daily ride up and down on the Zillertal summer lifts is included with the Zillertal Activcard.

Wimmertalalm
The Wimmertalalm is located in the most beautiful place in the Wimmertal and is a cozy hut for a stop on 1.380 m.

The crystal-clear mountain air in the Zillertal and the beautiful towns welcome every biker with open arms. The wonderful, impressive natural scenery, the well-developed routes, and the network of trails make it easy to plan everything from family tours to professional tours. Over 800 km of biking and cycling routes ensure unforgettable experiences.
Awaiting freeriders are challenging single trails, and families can enjoy nature in the valley floor along the 30 km long Zillertal bike path. Highlights for racing cyclists include the Zillertaler Höhenstraße and the Gerlos Pass, which guarantee ideal conditions with steep climbs.

The Murmelland on the Zillertaler Höhenstraße
The Murmelland Zillertal offers unique nature experiences at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level - all easily accessible by car or bus via the Zillertaler Höhenstraße.
Around the Kaltenbacher ski hut, a traditional mountain inn with a beautiful terrace and wonderful panoramic view over the Zillertal mountains, a marmot park with an adventure playground was created to bring the visitors not only fun and games but also nature in the form of marmots - and all that FREE ENTRY!

Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl)
The Golden Roof, in the state capital of Innsbruck, housed the first fixed administrative and governmental authorities of the empire. Under the rule of Maximilian I, Innsbruck became a rich and lively center for Tyrol and for the entire kingdom. The museum tells the history of this building, its builders, and the city of Innsbruck.
The Krimml Waterfalls
The Krimml Waterfalls can be reached by car via the Gerlosstraße (toll road!) in ca. 1 hr. Along the way, there are numerous magnificent views of the waterfalls.
Attention: please use the parking at the "Krimml Worlds of Water"! The Krimml Waterfalls are accessible with children's strollers even though the uphill paths are rather steep in parts.


The Achensee
The Achensee is reachable in ca. 35 min. by car and is quickly reachable by the Zillertalbahn. From Jenbach, you can reach the south tip of the Achensee in ca. 45 min on the cog railway, run exclusively by steam. Here, you have the opportunity to go on various hikes or enjoy a boat ride.
Attention: ask about combo tickets for the lift and boat at the train station!
Schwaz Silver Mine
The silver mine in Schwaz will take you on an exciting journey through time back to the mining era. In a 90 min. tour - after a ride on the mine railway (not for people with claustrophobia!) - you will learn interesting information about the largest mine in the 15th century and the Fuggers, an important banking family. You can then visit the Freundsberg Castle, the landmark of the Lower Inn Valley. This is where the Schwaz mining & local history museum is located.


The Swarovski Crystal Worlds
The Swarovski Crystal Worlds are located in Wattens. This unique interactive exhibit consists of imaginative, underground Chambers of Wonder focusing on the theme of crystals, which were expanded in 2003 with magical rooms designed by André Heller. A water-spewing, botanical giant guards the entrance to the building and welcomes guests. From the top of giant's head on a hill, you can enjoy a panoramic view. At the end of the tour, you can purchase objects made of crystal with a range of prices. The creatively designed park in the outdoor area invites you to linger - with a labyrinth, an alpine garden, and art objects as well as play areas for the little visitors.
The Rofan Mountains
The Rofan mountain range is located right on the southern part of the Achensee and offers a magnificent view of the Achensee and Alpine panorama. Located in Maurach is the valley station of the Rofan cable car, which will quickly take you up to an elevation of 1840 m.
With good weather and good thermals, you can watch hang gliders and paragliders take off.


The Hainzenberg Gold Mine
You can reach the Hainzenberg gold mine in Zell am Ziller in ca. 25 min. by car. You can take the "Gold Express" past the miner's chapel to the entrance of the mine, where the tour will begin (bring along sturdy shoes and warm clothing!).

Alpenzoo Innsbruck
The Alpenzoo Innsbruck can be reached in ca. 45 min. by car, and it houses only animals that can be found in the Alps. At the farm, you can get to know different livestock breeds from the Alpine region. For little animals lovers, there is an adventure playground with a "bear cave". At the zoo, you have the opportunity to take the Hungerburg funicular into the valley to Innsbruck (with the Riesenrundgemälde, a gigantic panoramic painting) or up the mountain, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of Innsbruck.


Open-Air Museum of Tyrolean Farms
The open-air Museum of Tyrolean Farms in Kramsach (ca. 35 min. away by car) displays typical farmhouses from Tyrol's valley communities and gives insight into traditional farming life and work.
You can also visit neighboring buildings such as the sawmill, flour mill, smithy, chapel, and school.
The Kundler Klamm
This gorge, reachable in ca. 35 min. by car, is suited as a hike for families as well as seniors. A perfect compliment to this hike is a ride on the sightseeing train in the Wildschönau. The walk from the gorge entrance to the train stop is ca. 1 hr. .
In the river bed of the Ache, amateur geologists can find many different types of rocks.


The Schleier Waterfall in Hart
The Schleier Waterfall in Hart (neighboring village of Uderns) is reachable via a bird trail, which provides a lot of interesting information about the world of birds. At the beginning of the trail in the "Almdiele" restaurant is the "Zillertal Bird World", a recently opened attraction that showcases local birds in many aviaries and a large free flight aviary through which you can walk. In an exhibition hall, you can marvel at and purchase a variety of minerals and gemstones from the alpine world.
Tratzberg Castle
The Tratzberg Castle in Jenbach was built 1500 meters above the Inn Valley and is reachable from the parking lot via a footpath (ca. 15 min. walk) or via the sightseeing train. A visit is possible only with an audio-visual tour (offered in 7 languages), and at the same time, a fairytale-like tour geared towards children is offered for the younger visitors.


The Spieljoch hiking and skiing area
The Spieljoch is the family-friendly mountain in the Zillertal. From Fügen (ca. ), the Spieljoch lift will take you to an elevation of 2,000 m in a comfortable 4-person gondola. From the summit station, you can start numerous hikes of various difficulty levels and lengths. Nearby is the opportunity to visit a mine. From the summit cross (15 min. from the summit station), you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Karwendel mountains or the Wilder Kaiser.
The alpine dairy in Mayrhofen
The alpine dairy in Mayrhofen invites families and groups to experience up-close the processing of milk into cheese and butter at 11 multi-media stations. Visitors will also learn interesting information about ways of life in the region and the tradition of products and their ingredients. Culinary treats top off the visit, and you can taste and purchase milk and cheese products fresh from the dairy.


The Wolfsklamm Gorge in Stans
The Wolfsklamm in Stans leads along steep steps and paths between rocky canyons and rushing waterfalls.
The path is accessible to people of all ages, but it is not suitable for children's strollers.
Arena Coaster - tobogganing fun in the Zillertal
Located right at the valley station of the Zillertal Arena in Zell is new kind of tobogganing fun that will delight more than just the kids: fun, action, and speed are awaiting you on the first alpine coaster in the Zillertal. The 1,450 m long coaster starts right at the valley station in Zell and is a year-round attraction for all ages with many waves, steep curves, and jumps. A 360° loop and a 540° loop ensure pure adrenaline.


Erlebnistherme Zillertal
The Erlebnistherme Zillertal in Fügen offers a relaxing and sophisticated atmosphere for every age group: whether with small children in the baby pool or thrills and action for the bigger kids on our 2 water slides. The spectacular tire-tube slide with a length of 134 m is NEW. Of course, we also offer plenty for those seeking wellness and relaxation. Unwind in our relaxation rooms and enjoy the wonderful view of the Zillertal mountains.
High ropes garden in Gerlos
Experience the new high ropes garden with 45 stations! After receiving instruction, you can start your adventure as you put your courage and skills to the test. The high ropes garden is a series of elements that are installed on a group of trees at a height of 10 to 15 meters. This course resembles a garden of obstacles that includes the use of ropes, cables, and tree trunks.

Under the direction of PGA head professional Simon Knabl, the Zillertal golf school offers golf instruction of the highest level. Along with state-of-the-art learning facilities, the school provides customized lessons in all areas of golf from PGA golf professionals. Whether you are swinging a golf club for the first time or if you're already an experienced golfer - each lesson is designed in such a way that you will see concrete progress.
The following facilities are available:

The Kothüttenalm
The "Kothüttenalm" is our hill farm where the cows spend their summer vacation. In the middle of the magnificent alpine world of Gerlos surrounded by unique mountain and herb meadows, which are home not only to the cows but also to numerous wild animals, you will find peace and can escape from the everyday - simply enjoy yourself.

Traditional cattle drive in the Zillertal
The cattle drive is an especially colorful, time-honored tradition that occurs when the cattle that have been grazing in the mountain pastures all summer are festively adorned with flowers, ribbons, embroidered headdresses with sayings and religious figures, and large bells are lead back down into the valley for winter. .
According to old traditions
The leading cow or "Moarkuh" leads the festively adorned herd followed by heifers, bulls, calves, young oxen, and small livestock such as sheep and goats. Thousands of people from home and abroad come to take part in this wonderful festival - not only because of the tasty delicacies that are served, but also because of the festivities: a farmer's market, schnapps distilling, and numerous stands offer Zillertal specialties such as farmhouse donuts, "Melchermuas", "Zerggl", farmhouse bread, bacon, grilled meats, pine schnapps, and sweet treats. Schuhplattler dancers, whip crackers, and folk music groups welcome the animals back home to the villages.
